An Australian scene!

Hi there! It is time for another fabulous challenge at MDUC. 

And this week we want to see POP UP CARDS!! 

I love making them, even if it takes some extra time.

So much time that I haven't been able to finish the front of the card yet, but I will be back with it in another post when it is finished:)

Here are the Magnolia stamps I have used: 

Tilda with her Kookaburra (Australia Collection 2012)

Kangaroo Tilda (Australia Collection 2012)

Tilda with UGG shoes (Australia Collection 2012)

Waterfall Background (Tilda & Edwin's Pet/Animal Collection 2009).

They are all colored with Distress Ink, re-inkers.

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, the cheeks are coloured with a mix of Tattered Rose and Aged Mahogany. Under her fringe I have coloured with Markers-Tea Dye, just to make a nice shadow on Tilda's forehead.

Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain

The pink/purple color : A mix with Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, Tattered Rose, Weathered Wood, I have also used Black Soot on the darkest spots.

The kangaroo: Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap

Birdcage with a colibri

Hi! I hope you are fine!:)

I really don't have much to show you these days as I have been working on my projects for the 

next Magnolia Ink (Autumn). But today I finished my work, and will send it to Sweden tomorrow. 

I found some pictures of a project I made some time ago.

It is drawers with a birdcage on top.

The cage is made with Tim Holtz dies, and the beautiful bird is a stamp from Magnolia and the Tilda and Edwin's Pet/Animal Collection 2009, called Colibri.

 The image is painted with Distress Ink, and I have also added Stickles-Star Dust on it.

The pattern papers are from Pion Design.

 I have decorated the cage with flowers from Magnolia and WOC. 

The cage is painted with Crackle Paint-Picket Fence.

Published card in Ett Trykk nr.4/2010

Some time ago the Magnolia team was asked to be guests in the Norwegian Magazine Ett Trykk, together with the Hãnglar team. The focus were on colouration.

We were so happy and proud to be asked, it was such an honour!! And no surprise the article was GREAT!!! So many talented artist in the same magazine! And it is like a dream to be among them:)

I feel like it is ages since I used Distresses...!

Since Ett Trykk wanted to see colouration, I masked together several images, so that I had a lot to colour. The challenge was more on how to decorate the small parts that were left behind the image;)

I love the Magnolia tree, and have added a lot of Stickles-Star Dust on it.

Here is the text for the magazine:

Size: 15x15 cm.

Ink: Archival Ink - Coffee.

Stamps: Magnolia - Tilda with Kitten, Magnolia Tree, Spring Fence, Just Sittin'here (text).

Pattern Paper: Melissa Frances - Florence, Madeline.

Other: Stickles-Star Dust; Quic Kutz-Photo Corner, leaf; Kaiser Crafts-pearls; Wild Orchid Crafts-flowers; Panduro-tag; lace, metal butterfly, doily.

I have coloured the image with Distress Ink, Reinkers. The edges are inked with Walnut Stain, and sewed.
Other: I have used addhesive foam to lift up the image.

Guitar Edwin

Yesterday I made a birthday card for the music-teacher at school:) He is turning 60 tomorrow. I have used this guitar-playing Edwin from 2008 Party and Vacation Collection. Behind him is the sun from the 2009 Tilda and Edwin Pet/Animal Collection.

The images are masked together, and coloured with Distress Ink, Reinkers.

Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo

Guitar: Vintage Photo, Black Soot

Shirt: Walnut Stain

Trousers: Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky, Black Soot

Sun: Scattered Straw, Wild Honey

I have cut out the pennants myself and put them on 3D-pillows. The letters, notes, leaves and numbers are Quick Kutz. I have put some Stickles-Star Dust on the sun and the clouds.

Enda en elev som har hatt bursdag!:) Elevene laget tegninger, og jeg omslaget. Og Magnolia er en stor hit i klasserommet;)

Hun er supersøt, Tilda med katten. Papirene er fra Melissa Frances, og sommerfuglen fra Panduro. Kantene er svertet og sydd. Jeg har fargelagt med Distress Ink.

I just think this image is so cute:) Love that cat!

The swirl is a grungeboard from Tim Holtz. The box where this swirl was, is called "stripes, elements, 94 shapes". I have painted the swirl with Distress crackle paint, tattered rose. The image "Tilda with cat" is coloured with Distress Ink.
The dotty paper is from Maja Design (Du och Jag), and the flowery paper is from K&Company. All edges are sewed.
I have punched two flowers out from the dotty paper with the retro flower punch, and bent the petals around my brush. I have distressed the edges. And also distressed the roses, and added glitterglue (Stickles~icicle) on them. The whole card is sprayed with Glimmermist, old lace.
The frames are made by Xtina.

Her kommer et helt nytt Magnoliakort fra meg! Men før jeg begynner med beskrivelsene vil jeg bare si tusen takk for støttende og flotte kommentarer:) Kjempegøy å lese!

Here comes a brand new Magnolia card from me! But before I start the descriptions, I have to say a BIG thank you for your supporting and wonderful comments:) I so enjoy reading them!

Er hun ikke søt??! Og så med den lille pusekatten:) Hun er fargelagt med Distress Ink. Og den hvite pennen jeg bruker heter Inkssentials, opaque pen, white.

Jeg har litt glitterlim på blomstene, og kortet er sprayet med Glimmermist. Mønsterarkene er fra Melissa Frances, og her er også et noteark fra den gamle sangboken, og en serviett, blonde og mesh. Borden og bladene er punchet ut med puncher fra Martha Stewart.

I have glitterglue on the roses, and the card is sprayed with Glimmermist. The pattern papers are from Melissa Frances, and I have also used a song paper from an old schoolbook. And here is a little napkin, a lace and some pink mesh. The border and leaves are punched out with Martha Stewart punches.

Tilda er satt på 3D-puter. Og teksten "Sweet wonderful you" er fra Magnolia's sommerkit.

I have put Tilda on 3D-pillows. And the text "Sweet wonderful you" is from Magnolias last Summer Kit.
